Core Conditioning

Mat Schatkowsky  

Mat Schatkowsky, is the head instructor of Core Conditioning and is a certified personal trainer interested in helping clients improve strength and endurance through a greater range of motion.  With a black belt in both judo and jukaijutsu jujutsu, Mat has over 7 years experience teaching martial arts. Fitness and exercise have been an integral part of Mat’s training; he has the knowledge to work with you on a variety of aspects of fitness including balance, coordination, and functional use of your body. Mat has competed in martial arts competitions throughout the country, including the Canadian Judo National Championships on two occasions.

The Core Conditioning program runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., and it's a workout that will leave you sweaty, exhilarated and more confident in your own training.  In the Core Conditioning program you will use Kettlebells, resistance bands, and free weights in addition to body weight exercises to help you build muscle, improve your cardio and leave you excited for the next class.  Mat's goal is to show you the skills you need to stay active and fit.  As it is a program that will give what you put into it, Mat will issue homework for an additional workout on the off-days, which you can use at a later time if you are on a vacation or are looking for workouts to do on your own.
